RIVERS STATE CHRISTMAS BONUS

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has declared a ₦100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants and pensioners (a gesture intended to spread festive cheer). This initiative, which has been confirmed by the State Head of Service, George Nweke, aims to aid recipients in fulfilling their holiday needs and will be disbursed without delay.

This marks the second consecutive year that such a bonus has been provided, although pensioners are included for the first time. Beneficiaries now encompass around 25,000 retirees, in addition to state employees. The bonus, which surpasses Nigeria’s minimum wage, underscores Fubara’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of Rivers State citizens (this aligns with his "Rivers First" agenda).
