FORMER GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO HONORS EFCC INVITATION



Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, responded to an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today. 


He attended the meeting at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja accompanied by his successor, Usman Ododo. This move came after discussions with his family, legal team and political allies. 




As a strong advocate for the rule of law and fairness the former Governor had previously sought to protect his rights during the process. His case is currently in court with his legal team representing him at every hearing. Yahaya Bello is now participating in the EFCC session to clear his name asserting that he has nothing to conceal or fear. 


He also reaffirmed his support for the anti corruption initiatives led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubus administration, which aims to steer Nigeria towards sustainable economic growth. Notably Yahaya Bello was the first Governor of Kogi State to establish an anti corruption framework to combat corruption and ensure that state resources benefit the people.




In the company of notable Nigerians he conveyed his optimism that the EFCC would carry out its probe in a manner upholding his basic rights as a Nigerian citizen. More information regarding his interactions with the EFCC will be disclosed at an time.
