As a doctor I can say that the early signs of pregnancy can differ from person to person. However here are some of the symptoms that are commonly seen.
1. Missed Period: This is one of the earliest and most noticeable signs particularly in women who have regular menstrual cycles.
2. Changes in Breasts: You may experience tenderness, swelling or sensitivity in your breasts. The nipples might darken and veins could become more prominent due to hormonal shifts.
3. Fatigue: Many women feel unusually tired or worn out early on in pregnancy due to increased levels of progesterone hormone.
4. Nausea and Vomiting: Often called "morning sickness this can happen at any time during the day and may start as soon as two weeks after conception.
5. Frequent Urination: Hormonal changes lead to increased blood flow to the kidneys resulting in urination.
6. Mood Swings: Emotional ups and downs are common because of the hormonal changes occurring, in the body.
7. Light Spotting or Cramping: Some women may experience bleeding (known as implantation bleeding) or mild cramping when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the lining.
8. Changes in Food Preferences or Cravings Hormonal fluctuations can heighten your sense of smell or taste making you dislike certain foods or crave others.
9. Feeling Bloated Hormonal shifts may cause sensations of bloating akin to what some women feel before their menstrual periods.
10. Experiencing Constipation Pregnancy hormones can slow down your system resulting in constipation.
If you think you might be pregnant the most reliable way to confirm it is by taking a test or consulting a healthcare professional.
