HOW NIGERIAN MUSIC LEGEND MAKES HISTORY

At 94 years old, Nigerian music legend Gentleman Mike Ejeagha has made history as the oldest artist to enter the Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 Songs chart. His song "Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche," originally released in 1983, went viral after being featured in a dance challenge by comedian Brain Jotter. Additionally, his album "Akuko N'egwu Original Vol. 1" has debuted on the Spotify Nigeria Top 100 Albums chart, 41 years after its release.

Ejeagha, an iconic Igbo musician, wrote the song "Enyi Ga Achi" in 1983, long before many of today's fans were born. Brain Jotter's use of the song's catchy "Gwo gwo ngwo" line in a skit propelled it to international fame. The song has since become the biggest Nigerian hit online, garnering widespread enjoyment and earning Ejeagha millions of Naira in appreciation.

As he approaches his 92nd birthday on August 1, 2024, this remarkable turn of events serves as a powerful reminder to never give up, regardless of life's challenges. You never know what tomorrow might bring.
