FEDERAL HIGH COURT JURISDICTION AFFIRMED

The Federal High Court has declared its jurisdiction over the dispute involving the Kano Emirate.

The judge affirmed that the court has the authority to hear the lawsuit filed by Danagundi on behalf of HRH Aminu Ado.

The judge ruled that the applicants' claims pertain to violations of basic rights rather than chieftaincy issues. Consequently, the court holds the inherent authority to consider, listen to, and resolve the case.

Thus, the judge concluded that the court initially had and continues to have the authority to proceed with the ongoing hearing.
