David Umahi, the Minister of Works, clarified that the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway will be constructed by the government at a cost of N4 billion per kilometer, refuting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's claim of N8 billion per km.
Umahi explained that the project, totaling N2.8 trillion, involves a modified design with ten lanes and shoulders, different from the original NDDC design.
This modification, he emphasized, reduces the cost to N4 billion per kilometer, compared to Atiku's calculation of over N8 billion.
