₦4.6B TRACED TO BAFARAWA'S SON

In a dramatic turn of events during the ONSA arms deal trial, a witness revealed that a staggering N4.6 billion has been traced to the son of Bafarawa.

During the trial of former Sokoto State governor Attahiru Bafarawa and four others, the Second Prosecution Witness, Hamza Abdullahi, made a crucial disclosure to Justice Y. Halilu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court. He stated that an astonishing sum of ₦4.633 billion was identified as flowing into the account of Dalhatu Investment Limited, a company linked to Bafarawa's son, Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa, and another individual named Nasir, both of whom held directorial positions. Adding to the intrigue, Sagir Bafarawa was the sole authorized signatory for the company's bank account.

The witness elaborated, "From the report we received from ONSA, when we scrutinized the report, we traced the sum of ₦4.633 billion paid to Dalhatu Investment Limited Account, domiciled in United Bank of Africa (UBA), with Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa as the sole signatory of the account." He further confirmed his involvement in documenting statements made by Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa during interviews, endorsing them with his name and signature.
