The maritime giant Intels no longer holds a monopoly, as the federal government has terminated its exclusive control over the sector. According to documents, the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) instructed the NPA to involve new contractors who were pre-qualified for the task.
The approved companies include ICA Logistics Limited (Lagos Pilotage District), Pacific Silverline Limited (Warri Pilotage District), Nextee Oil and Gas Trading Company (Bonny/Port Harcourt Pilotage District), and Isasha Investments Limited (Calabar Pilotage District).
These firms were directed to take over the Service Boat Operations Monitoring contract previously managed by Intels, following the BPP's Certificate of No-Objection dated August 30, 2023.
The BPP, in a letter referencing BPP/RPT/23/Vol.I/093, advised the NPA to obtain Federal Executive Council (FEC) approval before awarding contracts to the recommended Service Boat Operations Monitoring Agents.
