KOGI ELECTION TRIBUNAL BEGINS

The Kogi Off-Cycle Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, convened by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Bolna’an-Dongban, is scheduled to commence its sessions on Saturday, according to David Umar-Mike, the tribunal's secretary.

The election on Nov. 11 resulted in Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) securing victory with 446,237 votes, while his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), received 259,052 votes.

Umar-Mike explained that the initial focus on Saturday would be on exparte motions, with the main proceedings expected to extend over subsequent days as counsels gather necessary documents from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other sources.
