The Labour Party (LP) has expressed its disagreement with the Supreme Court's decision upholding President Bola Tinubu's victory.
In a unanimous ruling on Thursday, the seven-member panel of the apex court dismissed the petitions of Peter Obi of the LP and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who were challenging Tinubu's win in the February 25 election.
Julius Abure, the LP's national chairman, has called on the international community to support and protect democracy in Nigeria.
Abure also characterised the ruling as "unexpected and astonishing," especially considering the flaws evident in the judgment delivered by the Presidential Election Appeal Tribunal.
