President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of 18 aides within the Vice President's Office, as announced by Olusola Abiola, Director of Information at the Office of the Vice President on September 18, 2023. These appointments, comprising 6 Special Advisers and 12 Senior Special Assistants, aim to support the implementation of the Federal Government's agenda across various sectors of the economy.
The team will be stationed in the Vice President's office, where they will actively contribute to the realization of the "Renewed Hope" agenda of the Tinubu administration. Notable appointees in the Vice President's office include Rukaiya El-Rufai as Special Adviser to the President on NEC & Climate Change, Tope Kolade Fasua as Special Adviser on Economic Matters, Aliyu Modibbo Umar as Special Adviser for General Duties, Hakeem Baba Ahmed as Special Adviser on Political Matters, and Jumoke Oduwole as Special Adviser on PEBEC & Investment.
Other appointments include Sadiq Wanka as Special Adviser on Power Infrastructure, Usman Mohammed as Senior Special Assistant on Administration & Office Coordination, Kingsley Stanley Nkwocha as Senior Special Assistant on Media & Communications, Ishaq Ahmed Ningi as Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media & Emergency Management, Peju Adebajo as Senior Special Assistant on Investment & Privatization, Mohammed Bulama as Senior Special Assistant on Political/Special Duties, Kingsley Uzoma as Senior Special Assistant on Agricbusiness & Productivity Enhancement, Gimba Kakanda as Senior Special Assistant on Research & Analytics, and Temitola Adekunle-Johnson as Senior Special Assistant on Job Creation & MSMEs.
Additionally, Nasir Yammama serves as Senior Special Assistant on Innovation, Zainab Yunusa as Senior Special Assistant on NEC, Mariam Temitope as Senior Special Assistant on Regional Development Programmes, and Bashir Maidugu holds the position of Deputy State House Counsel (Senior Special Assistant to the President). These appointments collectively bolster the Vice President's office.
