NJC APPOINTS JUDGES


The National Judicial Council (NJC) has made appointments to various judicial positions, including the Federal High Court and the Sharia Court of Appeal in Kano. Among the appointees is the son of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayoode Ariwoola, who has been named as a judge of the Federal High Court.


In a statement released by the Director of Information of the NJC, Soji Oye, it was announced that a total of 23 judges for the Federal High Court, one Grand Kadi, and four Kadis for the Sharia Court of Appeal in Kano were appointed. The NJC conducted interviews and recommended candidates for these positions.


The list of recommended appointees includes Ariwoola Olukayode Jnr, Ekerete Udofot Akpan, Hussaini Dadan-Garba, Egbe Raphael Joshua, Anyalewa Onoja-Alapa, Aishatu Auya Ibrahim, Ogazi Friday Nkemakolam, Ogundare Kehinde Olayiwola, Chigozie Sergius, Hauwa Joeph Yilwa, Amina Aliyu Mohammed, Sharon Tanko Ishaya, Chituru Joy Wigwe-Oreh, Musa Kakaki, Owoeye Alexander Oluseyi, Abiodun Jordan Adeyemi, Agbaje Olufunmilola Adetutu, Salim Olasupo Ibrahim, Dipeolu Ibrahim, Dipeolu Deinde Isaac, Abdullahi Muhammad Dan-Ige, and Mashkur Salisu.


Additionally, the council recommended Kadi Muhammad Aminu Danjuma for Kaduna State and Muhammad Adam Kadem, Salisu Muhammad Isa, Isa Idris Sa’id, and Aliyu Muhammad Kani as Kadis for the Sharia Court of Appeal, Kano.


These recommended appointees will be officially sworn in after receiving approval from the President and their respective state governors.
