TRANSPORT LEVY SUSPENSION — GOV ALEX

The governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has announced a significant step towards fulfilling his campaign promise of reforming revenue collection methods in Abia. He intends to put an end to all forms of extortion, intimidation, and harassment faced by motorists. As a result, he has issued a directive for the immediate suspension of all Transport Levies imposed on Tricycles, Buses, Taxis, and other commercial vehicles operating on Abia roads.

This suspension will take effect immediately and will continue until a thorough review of these levies is conducted. The governor aims to establish transparent and well-organized arrangements for the collection of such Transport Levies, which will be made public.

The governor has strongly urged all individuals involved, both directly and indirectly, to cease their activities related to these levies without delay. Failure to comply with this directive will result in severe consequences, as security agencies have been duly informed and instructed to apprehend and bring to justice anyone found violating this directive.
