A NIGERIAN COURT DECLARES AGITATION FOR SELD DETERMINATION AND ACTUALISATION LEGAL

 


Oyo State High Court headed by Justice Ladiran Akintola, on  Friday made a declaration that campaign for self determination by people in Nigeria is legal and also a fundamental human right.


He said this while delivering judgement in a suit filed against the Federal Government of Nigeria by Chief Sunday Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho).


Justice Akintola, said with international and domestic laws of Nigeria combined, proofed that Ighoho, had unquestionable and inelienable fundamental right to campaign and agitate for self-determination.


The Judge also awarded ₦20 billion to Sunday Igboho against the Federal Government as aggravated damage over the invasion and destruction of his home by govt operatives.


Also, 16 reliefs sought by Sunday Igboho in the law suit filed by his lawyer Chief Yomi Aliyu, SAN, were all granted.


Respondents in the suit were Attorney General of the Federation SSS and Director SSS, Oyo state.
