It is the season of campaign for the 2019 general elections, therefore political parties will do all they can to win supporters in their folds ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Various political parties are taking their campaigns to different parts of the country as the forthcoming elections will not be a walkover for any of them and this may be the reason the Lagos state publicity secretary of the APC, Joe Igbokwe, posted fake pictures on his Facebook page to distort the reality of what really happened during the party’s presidential campaign in Akwa Ibom state.
Following the launch of the All Progressives Congress 2019 presidential campaign at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, publicity secretary of the party in Lagos state have posted two images showing massive turnout at the campaign. The images shared by Joe Igbokwe on his Facebook page were subjected to reverse image search and were discovered to be fake and deceptive
The first image was taken on August 29, 2007, showing Camp Nou, the stadium of a Spanish club, Barcelona.
See the post below:
Igbokwe, who claimed that the pictures were from the APC rally at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, was unaware that the tent in the middle of the second picture is not the same with the ones APC shared on its social media pages.
It should also be noted that the crowd present on the actual pitch of the Uyo stadium was not close to that shared by Igbokwe.
