NEWS! ADC REVEALS APC’S PLAN TO RIG ELECTIONS IN OGUN

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka has accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM),  saying the parties are creating hostilities which could make the state unfit for peaceful campaigns ahead of the forthcoming polls.

He spoke through the Director General of Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka Campaign Organization, Anthony Ojeshina  while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta. The DG alleged killing of ADC member at a rally in Abeokuta, defacing and carting away of the gubernatorial candidate’s billboards and A-boards, a development which according to him, was meant to truncate democratic process in the state. Ojeshina said suspected agents of APC and APM few days back destroyed the billboards and dumped them in a deep canal in Abeokuta metropolis. He vowed to resist recurrence of such “nefarious, antisocial and shameful acts.”

“From the foregoing, we see a sustained orgy of violence that are proving fatal at each turn. We also observe, having in hindsight the reliable information at our disposal that there are certain opposition parties that are deliberately triggering this crisis towards making Ogun state a theatre of war such that peaceful campaigns will be impossible and unfit to have elections here.

They also intend to precipitate a possible declaration of ‘State of Emergency’ in the process; thereby truncating the democratic process in our state,” the DG said.

When contacted, the DG of APM Campaign Council, Sarafa Ishola declined comments on the allegations.

But the Publicity Secretary of APC Caretaker Committee, Tunde Oladunjoye in a statement distanced the party from the allegations, saying ” APC and its candidates are running a decent, non-violent and issue-based campaign, devoid of violence and hate speeches.”

He asked ADC candidate to  “be courageous enough to name the persons and party and not lump APC together with the culprits.”
